This is not just a tour. It is a living encounter with one of the world’s oldest and most profound spiritual traditions. An authentic Pago a la Tierra ceremony led by Wayra in Quechua, combined with a private Cusco City Tour — connecting 600 years of living Andean tradition to the physical ruins you’ll stand in.
Wayra has practiced Andean spirituality for his entire adult life. He performs these ceremonies not as a tourist attraction, but as a genuine practitioner of the tradition he was born into. He speaks Quechua — the sacred language of the Andes — and conducts the ceremony in the same way it has been done for generations in his community. Maximum 8 travelers. This is not a mass tourism experience.

Itinerary
| 09:00 AM | Hotel pickup in Cusco Small group pickup — maximum 8 participants. We proceed to the ceremony location — a sacred outdoor site above Cusco with views of the surrounding Apus. |
| 09:30 AM | Preparation of the Despacho (offering) Wayra prepares the ceremonial elements on a misa cloth and explains each component: coca leaves, seeds, sweets, grains, llama fat, flowers, minerals. He invokes each Apu and Pachamama in Quechua. |
| 10:00 AM | The Pago a la Tierra ceremony Participants are invited to place their own coca leaves and intentions into the offering. Wayra leads prayers in Quechua. The offering is wrapped and prepared for the fire. |
| 10:45 AM | Closing fire ceremony The wrapped offering is burned — the smoke carries the intentions and gratitude to the Apus and Pachamama. Wayra reads the fire for messages. Optional coca leaf reading for participants who wish. |
| 11:30 AM | City Tour — 4 Archaeological Sites Private transport to Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Wayra narrates with the spiritual lens you’ve now gained from the ceremony — the ruins take on an entirely different meaning. |
| 13:30 PM | Qorikancha — Temple of the Sun The Qorikancha was the center of Inca sun worship — everything you learned about Inca spiritual practice now comes to life in this extraordinary building. The contrast between Inca and Spanish colonial architecture is breathtaking. |
| 14:30 PM | Plaza de Armas & end of tour Brief walk through the historic center of Cusco. Drop-off at your hotel. |

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this ceremony real or a tourist performance?
It is completely real. Wayra practices Andean spirituality as part of his personal and cultural life — he has performed Pagos a la Tierra for his own family, for local communities, and for select travelers for over two decades. This is not theater. If you approach it with genuine respect, it is a profound experience.
Do I need to believe in Andean spirituality to participate?
No. People of all beliefs and backgrounds participate and find it deeply meaningful. The ceremony is about gratitude, connection to nature, and intention-setting — concepts that resonate across cultures. Wayra welcomes everyone.
Can I photograph the ceremony?
Photos of the preparation and some moments of the ceremony are welcome. Wayra will indicate which moments are private and should not be photographed. We ask all participants to respect these boundaries.
Is this tour available on specific days only?
The Pago a la Tierra is most powerful on specific sacred dates in the Andean calendar, but can be performed any day. Contact us to discuss timing — Wayra will share the best dates if you have flexibility.
Why is this tour only available with Wayra Adventures?
Because it requires Wayra himself. No other licensed guide in Cusco combines 35 years of certified guiding experience with authentic Andean spiritual practice and trilingual ability (Spanish/English/Quechua). This tour exists because of who Wayra is — not because of a product we designed.
