This is not just a tour. It is a living encounter with one of the world’s oldest and most profound spiritual traditions.

The Pago a la Tierra literally ‘Payment to the Earth’ is an Andean ceremony performed to honor Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apus (mountain spirits). It is an act of gratitude, reciprocity, and connection that has been practiced continuously in the Andes for thousands of years. Long before the Incas built their empire, the people of the Andes understood that the Earth is a living being that gives everything and must receive offerings in return.

Wayra has practiced Andean spirituality for his entire adult life. He performs these ceremonies not as a tourist attraction, but as a genuine practitioner of the tradition he was born into. He speaks Quechua the sacred language of the Andes and conducts the ceremony in the same way it has been done for generations in his community.

During the ceremony, your guide will explain every element: the meaning of the offerings (coca leaves, seeds, flowers, minerals, sweets), the role of the Apus and Pachamama, and the concept of Ayni (sacred reciprocity). You will be invited to participate to place your own intentions into the offering and to experience the closing of the ceremony with fire.

This is followed by the full Cusco City Tour four archaeological sites (Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara, Tambomachay) and the Qorikancha all with Wayra providing historical and spiritual context that connects everything you’ve just experienced in the ceremony to the physical ruins you’re standing in.
